I would like to take a moment to thank everyone involved in making
2009 such an amazing success for Sub Rosa: The Gypsie Courtyard. I am
so proud to see how many people have come together to share their
talents. It is amazing to see the individual growth, the
collaborations, and the fellowships that have transpired.
With help from your sponsorship, participation and support, we held close to 100 shows
in the last year, affecting and directly empowering hundreds of people
in our community while making them aware of Louisville's unique
treasures. We were also able to give hope, work, support to well over
100 of our local artists, musicians, filmmakers, comedians, performers,
writers. Many works by local artists were sold and collaborations
forged.
We were able to perform at 6 different venues, support
local business, feature more than 75 musical acts, play a part of many
original art transactions, and to create murals, videos and music
together.
We were even able to save at least one life - "Before i stepped through the doors to find you, I was contemplating suicide".. WOW! That just shows the extreme power of supporting and encouraging each other.
Thank you for being such an important part of our community!
Happy New Year! May this be the year of still mind and open heart :D We
are all about to take some amazing steps in following our dreams and I
look forward to hearing about them all.
